Xavier VEILHAN

Xavier Veilhan (born in 1963 in Lyon) is a French contemporary artist who lives and works in Paris. His work is deliberately multidisciplinary (sculpture, installation, image, performance), often seeking a balance between the classicism of its subjects and forms and contemporary tools (modelling, digital processes, fabrication).

He is particularly recognised for his stylised figures and animals, at times angular or ‘faceted’, as well as for his interventions in the public realm and for installations that blur the boundaries between art, design and architecture.

In 2017, he represented France at the Venice Biennale with Studio Venezia, transforming the pavilion into a fully operational recording studio, activated by musicians throughout the duration of the event.
