Tony Cragg
Tony Cragg, born in Liverpool in 1949, is one of the leading sculptors on the contemporary scene. Based in Wuppertal, Germany, since 1977, he tirelessly explores material — wood, glass, bronze, stainless steel — creating volumes in motion where human profiles and natural energies intertwine.
Winner of the Turner Prize in 1988, the year he represented Britain at the Venice Biennale, he directed the Düsseldorf Kunstakademie and founded the Waldfrieden sculpture park in Wuppertal. His works are held in the collections of major museums worldwide.
